HypeMuse Privacy Policy

HypeMuse Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have when you use the HypeMuse app and connected devices ("Services").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address
  • Username and display name
  • Password (encrypted)
  • Profile picture (optional)

Device & Usage Data

  • HypeMuse device serial number and pairing status
  • App version, OS version, device model
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics
  • Bluetooth connection logs (for pairing only, not stored persistently)

Content You Upload

  • Images, GIFs, and designs you upload to your badge
  • Designs you publish or sell as a creator
  • Comments and messages within the app

Payment Information

  • Processed entirely by Stripe — we do NOT store your full credit card number
  • We retain transaction IDs, amounts, and order history for support and refunds

Optional Information

  • Location (only if you grant permission, used for event sync)
  • Contacts (only if you grant permission to invite friends)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the HypeMuse Services
  • Sync your badge with live events you opt into
  • Process payments and fulfill orders
  • Respond to support requests
  • Send important updates (firmware, security, terms changes)
  • Improve our products through aggregated, anonymized analytics

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with:

  • **Stripe** — payment processing
  • **Cloud hosting providers** (e.g., AWS) — storing app data
  • **Shipping carriers** (e.g., USPS, FedEx) — for physical orders
  • **Law enforcement** — only when legally required

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: kept until you delete your account
  • Order data: kept 7 years for tax/legal compliance
  • Crash logs: kept 90 days
  • Bluetooth pairing logs: not stored after the session ends

5. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your data — request a copy via support@hype-muse.com
  • Delete your account — in app Settings → Account → Delete
  • Withdraw consent — disable optional permissions anytime
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

EU/UK users have additional rights under GDPR. California users have additional rights under CCPA.

6. Children's Privacy

HypeMuse is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest). No method is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect.
